I promise I won't
put you to sleep
Everywhere I turn, I see graphic artists
moving into UX design.

And that makes perfect sense.

Still, if your team needs somebody with strong
critical thinking and storytelling skills, you need a
UX designer who comes by way of copywriting.

You need someone like me.

Once upon a time, I was an oarsman.

Pretty good, too. I raced for the US in the quadruple sculls at the Summer Olympics.

I tell you this not because there are many transferable skills between rowing and UX Design, but because my body may have changed, yet the stuff between my ears hasn't.

Coaches figured I didn't look like a world-class oarsman -- I wasn't tall enough. So I worked incredibly hard and eventually, people caught on:
I brought something special to the team.

I understood flow - how to blend seamlessly with my teammates - and still do.

Now, blending with clients is my thing. And I can't wait to meet my new crew.

"Jack is a very, very thorough researcher, but what sets him apart is the way he can distill his research into storytelling that is both engaging and memorable. Jack is a UX thinker. Jack is a UX doer."
